Stardust Had Better Become a Fantasy Film Classic | Tor.com ›

I couldn’t agree more. Stardust is hands down one of my favourite films ever and not just because Mark Strong is unbelievably hot as Prince Septimus and one of the best book adaptations I’ve come across.

Though you might not want to read the article if you haven’t seen the film yet, it contains a lot of spoilers.

And if you haven’t seen Stardust yet, you shouldn’t waste any more of your time on the internet anyway, but you should go and watch Stardust right now!

There’s never been a true war that wasn’t fought between two sets of people who were certain they were in the right. The really dangerous people believe they are doing whatever they are doing solely and only because it is without question the right thing to do. And that is what makes them dangerous.

fyodorpavlov:

The door opened all the way. The man in the dusty bathrobe was short, with iron-gray hair and craggy features. He wore gray pinstripe pants, shiny from age, and slippers. He held an unfiltered cigarette with square-tipped fingers, sucking the tip while keeping it cupped in his fist—like a convict, thought Shadow, or a soldier. […] His hands were rough and callused, and the tips of his fingers were as yellow as if they had been dipped in iodine.”

American Gods just gets better with a re-read. And I must admit my cultural bias.

One of my favourite short stories by Neil Gaiman. Go read it now if you haven’t read it already.

For the record, there are no paintings of “The Lactation of Saint Bernard” that are not weird. Here are more.

The Lactation of St. Bernard

Mary seriously needs to work on her aim, though Shrunken Head Christ certainly isn’t helping.

Everything in this post is crazy awesome. Neil Gaiman’s commentary, the website he linked to (www.art-breastfeeding.com, seriously why does this even exist) and the fact that there’s a whole tumblr dedicated to the fact that no one ever seems to be able to properly paint a baby.

ADLHK ADG TERRY JONES IS DOING THIS? IT’LL BE AMAZING I LOVE THAT MAN.

Let me get this straight. There’s going to be an HBO-production of American Gods and a 4-part series of Good Omens directed by Terry Jones?

Goodbye cruel world, hello full-time fangirling!
